The Big War: The Crucible Of 2023-2025
One of my readers has been sending me harrowing links to photos and articles about the Israeli onslaught against Gaza. The crimes that the Israeli government and military are committing are ghastly, unforgivable. The many photos and videos of the wounded and dead, miles of shattered ruins, long straggling lines of refugees, and unending artillery barrages and missile strikes that go on around the clock are beyond heart rending.
In the aggregate these things constitute war crimes, and even genocide, given the growing number of public statements by a wide array of Israelis in government and military positions that their intent is to kill all the Palestinians, to physically drive them from Gaza, to slaughter even the children and babies.
When this is all over, and one day it will be, I suspect that there will be a Nuremburg Tribunal 2.0, as it were; after which, not a few of those making open, genocidal public statements - - even as their ruthless, Zionist murder machine grinds Gaza and its Palestinian population to bits - - may swing from the gallows, or be rudely thrust before firing squads.
As for the crimes of the Zionists, I first heard about them in the late 1960s and early 1970s, in my teenage years. Not many years later I happened to travel to Turkey, in the winter of 1975-1976, you know, just to see the place. I had read about Istanbul and wanted to go and see what was there. The ancient, enormous city walls made a powerful impression on me, even in their greatly ruined state, as the train clattered into the city. Once there I drank a little demitasse of thick, black Turkish coffee in a sidewalk café, and ate a delicious Turkish baklava pastry swimming in melted honey and nuts, that the waiter ran off to procure in the next block.
By day I visited the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and walked around, marveling at the many, crippled old men who had been bent double by a lifetime of grueling, physical labor, renting out their bodies for hire as porters — carrying refrigerators, stoves, sofas, sacks of cement, etc., on their backs for long distances, alongside the many horse carts clip-clopping through traffic, Muslim women dressed in black robes and shawls, from head to toe; and after nightfall, walking along a street not very far from the bridge across the Bosporus, suddenly stumbling upon a freshly dead man who had just been killed by a bus, and understandably so.
It was so very gloomy and dim that neither he, nor the bus driver nor I, could see very far in that inky blackness. In truth, that bus could easily have hit me, but such are the vicissitudes of life that it traveled on past me, and a couple of blocks farther along killed another man instead. It clipped him so hard that the impact flung him a good 30 feet down the street. One of his shoes came off from the force of the blow, and was laying on the pavement where the bus had struck him. His body lay there in the weak glare of the bus’s headlights, with three or four men gathered around. I could do nothing, so I went on.
I returned to Greece on the following morning’s train. It was midnight by the time we pulled into Thessaloniki, in northwestern Greece. It was cold, with a biting wind whipping in off the sea. Everything was closed for the night. I laid down on a stone bench along the train tracks and tried to relax. Another train pulled in and disgorged a few passengers. Among them was a young Israeli who walked up, and sat down on an adjacent bench. I gave up trying to relax and sat up. We struck up a conversation, during the course of which he acknowledged that he was aware of the many massacres of Palestinians. I was a little bit surprised that he so easily admitted that the mass killings had occurred. He was very matter of fact about it.
The night went by, my train to Athens showed up, and I never saw the guy again.
Little did I know that 13 years later I would meet, and subsequently talk for years about all kinds of things with one of the survivors of perhaps the most famous/infamous of the 1940s bloody massacres: Deir Yassin.
Deir Yassin was a small village on the outskirts of Jerusalem. On 9 April 1948 the Irgun and Stern Zionist terror gangs showed up and conducted a slaughter against the people of Deir Yassin. To add cruel insult to murderous injury, they threw a bunch of bodies into one of the village wells.
My acquaintance, who was just a baby at the time, was one of those thrown into the well. The Zionist attackers thought he was dead. As fate would have it, he had the fortune to be the last thrown into the well, and landed on top of the pile of bodies.
His grandfather, who had been away from the village that day on business, returned to a horrific scenario of dead bodies and destruction. In the midst of the horror, he and other survivors heard a baby’s crying coming from the well. There in the well was my future acquaintance, wailing in pain, confusion and fear.
His grandfather hauled him out, and ultimately made the decision to leave the country. The rest of the family had been killed. There was no future for them in the new state of Israel. So his grandfather migrated to Lebanon with him in tow. They lived in Lebanon for a period and then crossed the Atlantic to Canada, from where they moved into the New England states. The grandfather died, but the young boy lived on, earned a university degree, married and raised a family.
There are many such stories. There are many Palestinians in the U$$A, Inc., and also in South America, especially in Chile.
The vicious Zionist slaughters and massacres of Palestinians started decades ago, and they have never stopped. The present day slaughter in Gaza is therefore just the most recent, and especially violent, in a long history of genocidal, Zionist policies against the Palestinians.
For the record: I am firmly opposed to the Zionist/Israeli hyperviolent, demented, demonic, sadistic, genocidal policies against the Palestinian people.
There are many who are saying that “we” must stand with Israel.
Not I!
I do not stand with Israel. I cannot and do not support the Zionist policy of genocide. What I am seeing is positively indefensible on any moral or legal basis. It is thoroughly wrong in every way.
It’s All About The Natural Gas And Oil - - NOT!
A lot of people, including some of my readers, are of the opinion that the present slaughter in Gaza has to do with taking control and ownership of very rich natural gas and petroleum deposits just offshore from Gaza, in the Mediterranean Sea.
While I don’t discount the multi-billion dollar value of the mineral wealth beneath the Eastern Mediterranean, what’s going on is much bigger than that.
What we are seeing is a brutal power play for planetary control, very heavily aided and abetted by the U$$A, Inc., and its global, mercenary military force, aka, the Pentagon.
From what I am seeing, hearing and reading in recent weeks and months, the Pentagon has been flying in hundreds and hundreds of large, military cargo planes to Europe and the Middle East, with troops and war materiel of all sorts. There is an aerial conveyor belt crossing the Atlantic, 24/7, for weeks now.
Though I am not in the military readiness loop, it seems likely that with that sort of intensive aerial supply line there are probably also many ships crossing the Atlantic with troops, trucks, tanks, artillery pieces, armored personnel carriers, missiles, artillery shells, rifles, ammunition, bombs, medical supplies, and more.
Even the legacy, mainstream news media have noted the unusual presence in recent weeks of multiple aircraft carrier battle groups in the Eastern Mediterranean/Middle East region. I have seen reports of three aircraft carrier battle groups in the region on the low side, and other accounts that claim as many as six have been sent, or even eight. In reality, who knows the true number?
It’s very hard to know the details of everything that is happening. The relevant governments and military institutions are saying very little publicly about what is going on.
But what we do conclusively know is that there is a raging war in Israel, on two fronts: Gaza and the Lebanese-Israeli border area.
We also know that there is a huge build-up of military firepower in the region, above and beyond whatever is going on in Gaza and Israel.
War is coming, a big war. What remains to be seen is exactly where, when and between whom.
Fifty very eventful days remain in this year.
Only God knows in detail all that 2024 will bring, let alone 2025.
